Nvidia rolls out physical AI agents and digital twins across EMEA cities

Nvidia has disclosed a roster of software partners — ABA Technology, Akila, Galene AI, Honeywell Technologies, K2K, Linker Vision, Milestone, Onetera, ThinkDeep and Younite — all building on a shared stack: the open Cosmos models for video understanding, the Metropolis Blueprint for video search and summarization (VSS), the open Nemotron models for reasoning and natural language, and the Omniverse libraries for running digital twins. The promise is that these agents will detect traffic congestion, equipment conditions, under-used space and safety hazards, letting municipal teams act faster.

In the Liverpool city region, K2K is testing "AI factories" powered by Nvidia accelerated computing, Cosmos and the VSS Blueprint to support urban planning and public services, with mobility and safety applications in trial. On the island of Jersey, the same partner is working on decision-making, mobility and planning while advancing clean energy. In Belfast, Innovation City is piloting smart transport, transit systems, citizen safety, and event management and response.

In France's Côte-d'Or department, Akila and ThinkDeep have built operational agents that unify sensor, infrastructure and historical data in a "sovereign" digital twin — meaning locally controlled — running on Nemotron, Omniverse and accelerated computing, with planned adoption of Cosmos for video data. The system is deployed across more than 500 public buildings, supporting energy, compliance, safety and climate resilience, and has cut document search from weeks to minutes. Operational savings stand at 10% today, with a target of 30% at broader rollout. At the port of Sète, Port Sud de France operates ThinkDeep's agentic platform with Cosmos and Nemotron for cargo analysis, safety data, operations coordination and secure handling of hazardous materials.

In the Milan area, Galene.AI, together with Dell Technologies and TD Synnex, is establishing a locally operated AI factory, starting in Cinisello Balsamo and expanding to four additional municipalities. Services include real-time translation, citizen chatbots, and procurement and funding assistance, aiming to reduce access to municipal data from hours to seconds while preserving local data governance. At the port of Antwerp-Bruges in Belgium, Milestone and Dell are testing agentic machine vision with Cosmos and the VSS Blueprint, including oil-spill alerts, training models on synthetic data to overcome the scarcity of real-world data for rare events.

In the Nordics, Younite is developing a digital-twin experience with Omniverse libraries for Gothenburg as part of the European Union's Citiverse initiative. The goal is to let cities simulate changes and improve accessibility — for example, previewing event entrances, seating arrangements and crowding conditions before arrival. The broader picture Nvidia describes is tailoring agentic applications to local needs and scaling them across departments, neighboring municipalities and additional countries, such as a city in Poland where the provided text breaks off.
