Deutsche Telekom integrates ElevenLabs AI voice technology across network

Deutsche Telekom, Europe’s largest telecom operator, has partnered with ElevenLabs to embed AI-driven voice technology throughout its business operations. The integration spans the customer-service call centre, the consumer app and the carrier network itself. The AI voice assistant runs on ElevenLabs’ infrastructure and is embedded directly in the cellular network, so it operates on any mobile device that can place a phone call, regardless of app or handset model.
Customers receive three core capabilities: live assistance during a call, real-time translation, and transcription with a summary of the conversation. The model is a network-level deployment rather than a separate auxiliary app that must be downloaded, meaning every Deutsche Telekom subscriber who can dial a number automatically gains these functions without any installation step.
Deutsche Telekom also employs ElevenLabs in its own call-centre, where voice quality determines whether a caller remains on the line with an AI representative or disconnects. The company says, “A larger share of customers now allows the AI representative to handle requests from start to finish without asking to be transferred to a human representative.” This reflects a notable shift in customer behaviour: today, callers are willing to let the AI manage the entire conversation, not merely perform initial routing.
