Plaud launches AI earbuds with independent call recording and summarization

Plaud announced the One Explorer Edition, earbuds that look like ordinary TWS (true-wireless stereo) devices but embed a recording, transcription and summarization system. The main upgrade over the previous generation, the Magnetic Pin, is an independent charging case with a built-in 4G modem, allowing calls to be uploaded and processed without a phone or Wi-Fi. Preorders opened today at $249.99, with shipments slated for the end of September 2026.

Each earbud houses three microphones and 16 megabytes of local storage (32 megabytes total), and claims a recording range of up to two meters. Continuous recording lasts six hours, which also matches the earbuds’ maximum battery life. The hardware includes active noise cancellation and a force-sensor-based touch control on the stem. The case adds four microphones with a five-meter range, a built-in speaker, 512 megabytes of storage and a battery that extends total runtime to 36 hours; charging uses USB-C.

Transcription and summarization run on Plaud Intelligence, the company’s proprietary engine, which Plaud says “understands and executes human intent.” A dedicated AI button on the case activates Plaud Agent, which natively integrates with Gmail, Google Calendar, Notion and Slack to reduce app-switching. Plaud has not published benchmarks to compare its transcription performance with existing services, and it is not clear whether processing occurs locally on the case or in the cloud after a 4G upload.

The official price remains $249.99. Early pre-order is available today in “selected markets,” though Plaud did not specify which. Expected delivery is the end of September 2026. This is the company’s second product after the Magnetic Pin, shifting the focus to a daily-use earbud format while retaining the phone-independent capability enabled by the 4G-enabled case.
