AMD launches ROCm 10 with AI-based optimization layer and claims large performance gains

AMD announced the tenth version of its ROCm software stack, adding an AI-driven optimization layer that automatically analyzes workloads, tunes configurations and kernels, and adjusts parallelism strategies. The company describes this as an “AI-native software experience” on its hardware, meaning the software learns the load and adapts without manual developer intervention.
The release cites a 3.3-fold improvement in inference and a 2.4-fold improvement in training. The announcement does not indicate the baseline for these figures, the hardware generation used, the model evaluated, the prior ROCm version compared against, or the software configuration employed.
